Motoring Heritage Trail

Bromyard Walkers Are Welcome

Throughout the summer, look out for specially curated window displays across Bromyard town centre. Each showcases a facet of the town’s rich motoring legacy.

Discover Bromyard’s Motoring Heritage Window Trail

From handcrafted Morgan cars and pioneering FastKarts to the engineering marvel of the Vampire Rocket Car, Bromyard’s roads have been shaped by innovation—and our town’s connection to the Beaulieu Motor Museum and rally legend Barrie “Whizzo” Williams reveals an extraordinary chapter in Britain’s motoring story.

This summer, the Chamber has transformed empty shop windows across the town into a celebration of our automotive legacy, perfectly timed for the Bromyard Speed Festival on Sunday, 27th July. Follow the trail to see a special tribute to Barrie “Whizzo” Williams, complete with his genuine trophies, framed photographs, and that iconic orange racing helmet, honouring six decades of high-octane adventure.  The Historic Motoring Trail will be in the shop windows until the Art Walk at the end of August.

Simply scan the QR codes on each display to unlock the full tales behind the machines, the people, and the milestones that make Bromyard a true landmark in British motoring history.
